A note to you before we begin…
Beginning therapy is an act of self-care and bravery. If you have a healthy support system of friends and family, you may want to let a few select individuals know what you are up to. If that does not feel safe or ‘right’, know you are making an empowering choice for yourself, loved ones around you, the human community and the earth as a whole. You are creating a space for new awareness and compassion to develop-even if it doesn’t feel like it at first. The mountain, at the beginning, may seem impossible to climb-we will take each step, one at a time.
Once you email (lindsayhuettman@soulstewardscounseling) or call 425 835 3869 to set up your free 30 min consultation, you will receive an email, directions and disclosure forms to fill out. If you have questions about my location or times available, please contact me.
I charge $90 per 55 minute hour for individual clients, 115$ for couples and 120$ for home visits. At this time I do not take insurance but can be billed by some insurance companies as a ‘out of network provider’. Please inquire with your insurance provider about this option. I also have a limited number of sliding scale appointments which are currently available. Please feel free to inquire about financial assistance in your primary consultation if this support is needed.
What to Expect at Your First Appointment:
After our consultation, our first appointment will proceed as follows:
(Please see details below)
- I will provide an explanation of your rights and we will sign a informed consent & disclosure together
- A preliminary verbal outline of what brought you to therapy
- The co-creation a therapeutic map for your journey forward
Your Rights as a Client
At your first appointment, we will go over the informed consent and disclosure statement that explains in detail my credentials, modalities of therapy, your rights as a patient, fees agreements and more. Although this may seem tedious, I like to think of this time together as our ritual of forming trust thorough mutually recognized agreements. More directly, this is a standard practice to make sure we are on the same page and that you understand your rights! Remember that you are protected by HIPPA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability) laws to have a confidential appointment within approved guidelines. If you have any questions about your rights as a patient, we will cover these fully in your first appointment.
What Brought you to Therapy?
At the beginning, I will be asking you some questions to learn more about your story and why you are seeking support. This may take more than one session. Be honest. Be yourself. Tell me your story, and we will start from there.
The therapeutic ‘map’which may include but is not limited to:
- Setting up your next appointment(s) with initial predetermination of contact (i.e once a week, every two week appointments)
- Therapeutic interventions to support you immediately and eventually long-term
- Homework that may include exercises for your mind, body and soul
- Consultations with your primary caregiver or other health care professionals
- Skills for communication with others, self-care strategies and much more!
Those that are considering Nature Connection Therapy or Home Visits will have to initial an additional (short) liability disclosure on the first appointment. This is only to ensure that you understand and I understand that there may be risks out-of-doors or at your home that neither you or I could predict.
