I have seen and heard from many of you that this is needed right now. The creation of this group is a result of an intention to provide a space to share, learn, grieve and find ways to support ourselves and each other. I am also experiencing grief about the state of the earth today. I also have a very deep connection and continuing conversation with the earth about this topic. This is a difficult AND unrecognized/unaffirmed grief that is essential to have others to share with, be in nature with, and receive experienced, professional guidance with.

This OUTDOOR group is to support those of you who are struggling with grief, anxiety, anger, apathy, depression, etc. around environmental issues and loss of wild places. We will be exploring a range of topics that include but are not limited to:

  • How to cope with the loss of wild places, species and our current human story of attachment to the earth
  • Ways to mindfully form deep connections with nature for support and non human communication
  • The power of community healing and wholing in nature
  • Building resiliency and wholeness for engaging the future
  • Resources and practices to help guide you in making this a life long practice
  • Psycho education about grief, anxiety, depression, anger, apathy and ecopsychology
  • Basic naturalist skills in plant, bird, mammal sign and ID, as well as anything nature provides in the moment!

Who?

I am only taking 10 clients for this closed group (that means we will not have drop ins) because I want to keep our process flowing and close. If you have never been in a group before, please call me for a better idea of what this looks like.

Where?

We will be going local parks and wilderness areas on the West side of the mountains Within in an hour of Seattle. We will be going on some hikes that are not too strenuous.  You will have to be prepared to be out in all weather types with snacks, water, gear and medications for 2 hours. I am a veteran Wilderness First Responder and can provide care in emergencies. Please read more about my wilderness credentials in the “About Me” section of my website.

When?

Specific Dates TBA: We will start in mid to late September, on TUESDAYS. Please let me know your preference for hours when you call to register. We will have an initial 30min consultation before you join the group to make sure this is a good fit for you. Please call me directly to set this up.

Cost?

The whole 6 week session will cost $250.00, 2 hour group sessions once a week for 6 weeks. I will require a 50.00 deposit to hold your spot (this will pay for your first session).

  • If you are stressed out, feel disconnected from nature and your own soul, crave the company of excellent women, then this retreat is for you.
  • We will not only pamper you with amazing food and gorgeous scenery, but also engage in practices and gentle rituals to help you break through old patterns.  This will help you fully flourish in your life.
  • We will explore an old pattern in your life that repeats over and over again (for example putting yourself last, giving your power away to others, constantly getting sick, not reaching your highest potentials).  You will gain crystal clear clarity.
  • You will free up energy, improve your health, lighten your spirit, connect with a soul tribe of sisters, so that you can move forward in your life to be the best person you can be.
  • We will name and start to transform the false beliefs that are at the center of this pattern.  You will walk away with proven tools you can use for your whole life.
  • We will do this through one-on-one coaching, group work, rituals, exercises in nature, journaling, and more.  You will experience deep support and encouragement.
  • There will be plenty of time to be alone as well.  Bring a journal, your knitting, a good book.  This is all about nourishing yourself on all levels: emotional, physical, mental and spiritual.

2. Natural Journey With Grief: February 11 & 12th 2017

photo-1444703686981-a3abbc4d4fe3

Have you ever noticed that in some of the hardest times in your life… a breath of fresh air, a glorious sunset or a sturdy tree to lean on has offered unconditional support and momentary joy?

If you have had any loss – either recent or in the past – you know how difficult this process can be. There are many times our human or animal loved ones are there for us, and times they cannot be. The earth also holds the ability to create a safe, knowledgeable and supportive presence in times of loss and grief.

Join us for a weekend exploring what the common reactions to grief and loss are, and how our beautiful Pacific Northwest forest can be an ally through your process. We will also be giving back to the places that support us with a guided awareness and gratitude ritual. Sometimes being alone in our grief is needed, but it never has to be the only option. Come join us to share in a sacred, confidential space in nature to support and be supported in your soul’s natural journey with grief.

Program Logistics

Class will take place at our school’s 40-acre property from 9am-5pm on Saturday and Sunday. No Food provided. Rustic camping available Saturday night. Please go to this link to Wilderness Awareness School at Wilderness Awareness School to register.
